The exhibition Dialogue with the Sino-Montreal Community was conceived during the pandemic, a time marked by the height of anti-Asian racism and the widespread closure of Chinatown. In this challenging context, I sought to amplify the voices of those who have profoundly shaped the culture and legacy of this vibrant community. Over the course of two weeks, I found and interviewed 13 remarkable individuals, including restaurant owners, volunteers, artists, chefs, and an unofficial historian who came to Canada as a "paper son." Each story reflects resilience, creativity, and an enduring connection to the community's heritage, offering a powerful reminder of Chinatown's significance and the strength of its people.

Organized by MEM – Montreal Memories Center in collaboration with the Chinese Family Service of Greater Montreal, this exhibition is part of the Dialogue with Chinatown initiative led by the City of Montreal.

Fun fact: MEM has established a museum in the heart of downtown Montreal, where visitors can explore the entire exhibition in a dynamic digital format.
