Douglas Cardinal for Pin-Up
The renowned architecture magazine Pin-Up reached out to me to photograph Canadian Indigenous architect Douglas Cardinal for a feature story. Mr. Cardinal’s flowing, organic designs reflect nature’s forms and Indigenous values, blending architecture with the natural world. For the story, we spent a day exploring the Canadian Museum of History, one of his most iconic creations. Everything was shot on medium-format film.
Fun fact: The museum was closed during the pandemic, so we spent five hours wandering alone inside as Mr. Cardinal explained the intention behind each intricate detail. The honor was all mine.
