This is a profile I wrote and shot with content creator and model Mina Gerges in Toronto for Elle Canada. Mina Gerges, a 28-year-old Egyptian-Canadian drag queen, model, and influencer, is a prominent advocate for body positivity and LGBTQIA2S+ rights. He gained recognition by recreating celebrity red carpet looks on Instagram, capturing the attention of stars like Beyoncé and Rihanna. Gerges made history as the first plus-size member of Canada's Drag Race pit crew and the first Canadian male model to front major beauty campaigns for Sephora, Shoppers Beauty, and Holt Renfrew. Embracing his Egyptian heritage, he created the drag persona Nefertiti, embodying confidence and self-expression.
