In 2024, Sticky Rice Magazine opened the festival Fierté Montréal Pride with In Between Us: A Tribute to Martial Arts, an ode to the strength of heart vital for uniting in resistance against all forms of oppression and exploitation across borders. Martial artists (samurai, mua thai, capoeira, burlesque!) demonstrated the art of combat in dynamic performances that unfolded a story of intertwined struggles and collective resilience, marked by tension, risk and reward in togetherness.
